FULL PRODUCTION DETAILS:

DIRTY STACEE by Wesley J. Colford

PRODUCTION DATES:
An excerpt will be presented at Theatre Passe Muraille as part of the Paprika Festival (April 6-12, 2014)
As well as two workshop performances at the Tarragon Far Studio: April 18th and 19th, 2014

The focus of this workshop is script development, with the possibility of future production involvement.

SUMMARY:
In pursuit of online episodes of Star Trek, eleven year old Kirk accidentally stumbles upon the website of “Dirty Stacee”, a “barely legal” co–ed who offers a large variety of 30-second samples: Just enough time to fall in love. A dark comedy about isolation, Star Trek, and internet pornography addiction.

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN:

Kirk (25-30)

Our narrator, Kirk is smart, sweet and adventurous, like his namesake. He is a sensitive young man who has spent too much time alone growing up and who tends to over think things, often leading to anxiety. Through narration, he plays a variety of ages from 11 to present day. He works in stats.

Mom (25-50)

A single mother who had Kirk in high school, she also plays a variety of ages through flashback. While she means well, her attempts at parenting are often at odds with her many jobs and constant dating.

Gillian F. (16-25)

At 11 years old, Gillian F. may or may not be the prettiest girl in the school. She has a clear sense of morals and healthy eating instilled by her parents, but is ready to grow up and curious about the ways of the world. Her favourite subject is social studies.

Sarah (20-30)

Kirk’s first “real, human” relationship. Sarah was homeschooled until university and has led a conservative life, but is all too ready to make up for it in her 20’s. Smart, funny, and sexy, Sarah is game for anything, but at the same time is very loyal and empathetic.  In it for the long haul.

Stacee (18-25)

A “barely legal” embodiment of pre-pubescent innocence. Classic “girl next door”, with a natural beauty that can turn from doe-eyed to dominatrix in the blink of an eye.  Must be comfortable with the possibility of nudity.
